LR IS OVERFLOWING WITH CHOCOLATE!!! On Saturday, LR rescued SEVEN chocolate PUREBRED male Labs from a breeder that could no longer afford to feed them. Say hello to Chip – Heath – Hershey – Java – Mocha – Muddy and Semi. If LR had not taken them in, who knows what their fate would have been. All seven pups were immediately taken to the vet. They were all tested for heartworm, received shots (DA2PP, rabies and bordetella), had fecal testing and flea treatment. They still need to be microchipped and neutered, which will be happening very soon. The pups spent Sat – today at Dirty Dog Ranch in Lakeside and had a great time running around in a new environment. We thank Deb and her family at Dirty Dog Ranch for taking them all in!! These pups have lived outdoor their entire lives and everything in the real world is new to them (leashes, cars, crates, etc). Because of this, they will need a patient family who will show them what being real dog and a furry family member is all about. They will need to learn indoor manners, including potty training. Patience, understanding, proper training and socialization will be key, but the end result will all be worth it.
