“La Mancha” Humanitarian Award On October 15th, Sisters Judy Sheridan and Joan Bernich accepted a Humanitarian Award granted to the Marist Missionary Sisters by the Casa Cornelia Law Center in San Diego California for our work in helping women who are victims of trafficking. The mission of Casa Cornelia, founded by the Sisters of the Holy Child Jesus, is “to provide free legal services to victims of human and civil rights abuse violations.” The “La Mancha” Awards are granted annually to lawyers, volunteers and others, who have made an outstanding contribution to the mission of Casa Cornelia. Of course “La Mancha” refers to the story of Don Quixote who dared to “dream impossible dreams” (casacornelia.org)
