Labor. I think of toil and tarry. I think of sweat and effort. - TopicsExpress

Labor. I think of toil and tarry. I think of sweat and effort. All with the prize in sight. I watched the U.S. Open yesterday. One of my favorite players is Maria Sharipova. With each massive swing of her racquet, she emits a warriors cry for victory. Every point is a battle, a labor, to hit the ball over the net one more time than her opponent. She pumps her fist at the winning overhead or down-the-line cannon. Do we? Do we raise our hands at each defeat of the devil? When we press our lips together and walk away from an argument? Do we fight that hard not to engage in sinful activities so much so that we train for hours for victory over the enemy? Do we labor as hard for heaven as we do for whatever it was for which we wrote our last check? I know my answer is no. So how much time on this Labor Day will we give him? ~ My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. Psalm 62:1. Rest from your labors today, but find true rest in Him. ~
