Labour is proposing to speed up the court process in Christchurch - TopicsExpress

Labour is proposing to speed up the court process in Christchurch regarding insurance claims by having taxpayers fund the legal costs of all parties. Wont this provide a huge incentive for no one to settle? If taxpayers are picking up the court costs, youd be a fool to settle. Everyone will go to court and fight for as long as possible. Labour always overlook the unintended consequences of making something free. This policy will be a cash windfall for lawyers, but not much for anyone else.
