Ladies and Gentlemen, Please find below a bill from the City of Albany to the NYSRPA in the amount of $11,700.00 for bus parking and handling during our February 28th SAFE Act Rally. We paid for the Port a Johns, the sound system and security; transportation fees were the responsibility of those hiring the busses. Since that responsibility wasn’t satisfied the NYSRPA is now being billed for this amount. To date the NYSRPA has spent $350,000 contesting the SAFE Act in Federal District Court and to date not one statewide organization has proffered any help other than the monies that were collected at the event, a few thousand dollars. Paying this fee will divert monies from our SAFE Act challenge and further drain the assets of the NYSRPA; however since we have been billed for it we are responsible. Unfortunately our only course of action is to hire an attorney to dispute the the assertion we are responsible for the fees. Many groups say I’m non cooperative and accuse me of not wanting to get involved with other organizations; well readers this is the reason. image Tom King Cogito ergo sum armati
