Ladies and gentleman, this concludes our broadcast day. Good night. *American flag...National anthem. Ant races, or snow.* I remenber when television stopped for a few hours. Whatever happened overnight had to wait to be told until morning. We slept while the planet kept on doing its thing. Truthfully, I savor the rare times now when there is no signal into my leash. It is nice to be out. I impose rules regarding my availability, too, like my parents had for our house phone: not before 6:30 AM, nor during meals; not after 10:00 PM (with small exception of two intimate contacts who may text and ring to their hearts content). Enjoy your own unplugging. I hope you will consider the days when the world said, good night each evening and graced us with a brief period of quiet and acceptable disconnection from each other. Sleep well.
