Lady was a very pregnant German shepherd that was sent to a high kill gassing shelter in the south with a severely broken leg. Her leg had been broken for several weeks prior to arriving at the shelter. She was in severe pain, emaciated and very pregnant. She needed immediate rescue. Hal with the help of our fabulous volunteers was able to find emergency transport from SC to PA. A small plane was able to fly her to a tiny airport in Harrisburg PA. There a HAL volunteer picked up a very stressed and very pregnant lady and drove her back to North Wales PA. After settling in overnight Lady was seen by an orthopedic Surgeon and neonatologist to determine if her unborn pups could withstand her going through emergency surgery. It was decided that it was best for her to get the surgery immediately as she was in a huge amount of pain. Lady had the surgery and was brought home. A few days later Lady went into labor. After several hours of labor Lady ran into major complications. Lady was rushed to the emergency vet where she had an emergency C-Section. 5 little girls and 3 boys all healthy were brought into the world around midnight. Lady has been through so much but remains friendly and perseveres through each hurdle. Lady’s medical costs have exceeded what the rescue is able to pay. We need to raise funds to cover her orthopedic surgery, C-Section, Rehabilitation, follow up visits and costs for the puppies. We are looking for the communities support to help us raise these much needed funds so that we can continue to support the community by saving dogs in need. We love helping the under dogs that other rescues shy away from, but can only continue to do this with the support of you! No amount is to small to donate to Lady and her pups!.
