Lampard and Terry are role models to young players stalwarts says Chelsea boss...!! Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho says young footballers should look to Chelsea veterans Frank Lampard and John Terry as a source of inspiration. In an era when players are treated like celebrities and often live like it off the pitch, having the work ethic of Lampard and Terry should remain a priority says the Portuguese coach. “What I feel is that before, players were trying to make money during their career, be rich at the end of their career,” Mourinho was quoted by the London Evening Standard. “But in this moment, the people who surround them try to make them rich before they start their career. “They try to make them rich when they sign their first contract, when they didn’t play one single match in the Premier League, when they don’t know what it is to play in the Champions League. “So we are working hard to give the best orientation to young players, to follow examples of guys from the past – the Lampards, the Terrys – who were always fanatical for victories.” The two players have won every major trophy possible whilst at Stamford Bridge, with three Premier League titles, four FA Cups, the League Cup, Europa League and Champions League. Currently they have helped the Blues to top of the table as well, with Mourinho’s men looking likely to win their third English title under the 51-year-old.
