Land grabbing is a major cause of hunger and poverty in the world. These days, a worldwide phenomenon is occurring in which a handful of powerful multinationals seize control of global food production. Consequently, local communities are forced off their own lands and lack access to the natural resources they need to survive. This was the central theme in yesterday evening’s debate during the Food4All Festival, held in Movie W. The festival’s theme this year is ‘Hungry for Justice’ and is organized by Otherwise, ILEIA and FIAN. Thought-provoking documentaries focussing on contemporary issues related to the global food system are showing until tomorrow evening. The documentaries are followed by interesting discussions during which ideas are shared with experts.
