Lao is the most beautiful and heart rending country I have ever visited! So much history that haunts you but so much love that it helps keep the country going! America not only affected Vietnam, but also used Lao as a weapon disposal so the planes could land safely back at their base along border. Due to the selfishness and hostility, over 2 and half million tonnes of bombs and clusters fell on the Lao surface killings thousands. To make the tragedy worse, 30% percent of the bombs didnt explode back in the 60s, meaning that from then to now, over 30,000 people have become victims of treading on the sleeping traps. Over a third of country is still ridden with sleeping bombs which means millions of people/farmers have to live in fear incase they or their families are victims. The soil an sand in Lao is red, the locals say that the innocent victims blood has marked the country, always to be as a reminder. Lao, you have truly taken my breathe away... #Lao
