Last Friday, 23 million households had their food stamps cut. Unprecedented in breadth and depth, the impact of these cuts is hard to take in. They mean less to eat for 47 million Americans, including 22 million children, 9 million elderly and disabled. A family of 4 will lose 21 meals a month - basically a weeks worth of food. The cuts are going to make millions of people hungry, said Jim Weill, president of the Food Research and Action Center. Heres a decent report from CBS news:
