Last Friday I went to my last school of the week, excited to see my new crop of beginning string students. As I pass by the office, I check in with the secretary, who tells me that one of my new parents is in the office with the principal. I was invited in, only to hear this parent telling the principal that the instrumental music teacher (thats me) was clearly getting KICKBACKS from the local music store for recommending said store over buying a violin sight-unseen online. After all, he had just paid 40 good dollars for the violin he bought on a website (that he couldnt remember the name of) and just because the music teacher (thats me, again) couldnt tune it, that wasnt his fault. His 8th grade daughter, who dropped out of IM in middle school, could make it play, so why couldnt the music teacher? Dont know whether to be insulted or to laugh hysterically!
