Last January 26, 2013, another outreach activity was organized by the VNAA in coordination with the Velez College - College of Nursing White Caps. The activity was at Asilo de la Milagrosa Orphanage. The orphanage was chosen as a recipient for this activity since the orphanage is now home to a few child survivors of typhoon Yolanda from northern Cebu and Tacloban, who have lost their parents to this tragic calamity. The activity started with the distribution of afternoon snacks to the children. Afterwhich, school supplies and toiletries were given to each child. For the infants, packs of diapers were handed to the social workers of the orphanage who are the custodians for the children. To add fun to the activity, the children were treated to a balloon bounce playpen. They enjoyed the whole sunday afternoon and were grateful for all the generous alumni donors who have sent in their help, most especially to our alumni in Toronto, Canada who have embraced our journey in touching the lives of these children.
