Last New Years Eve, about this time, twilight, I heard sirens - TopicsExpress

Last New Years Eve, about this time, twilight, I heard sirens wail. Little did I know, a few doors down, another man, intoxicated, running from the police + God, heard those same sirens + ran in the opposite direction... down the hill, around a gas station, behind the car wash, slipped down an embankment, right into a maze of blackberries. Confused and frightened, rather than run out, he then ran further in + stumbled across Ericas body. We had searched for 88 days, actually put up our 1st Missing poster at that very station, Search + Rescue had passed within a few feet of her, but somehow we had to wait until New Year’s for Erica to be found. That man’s life changed and he has been in rehab since! Much yet remains a mystery to me… yet I thank God for His revelation: ‘what things were loss to me, these I have counted gain for Christ.’ (Phil 3:7 Schmidt paraphrase) Our God is a Redeemer: the only One I know who can take what the enemy intended for evil and somehow by His Grace work it for good. This year He has walked me and our family through the pain, confusion and loss of our dear Erica. We miss her greatly, but His Presence is with us, healing our hearts + turning her legacy for good. Thank you so much for your love, prayers + kindness through this time. They have truly shown who walks with us.
