Last Saturday, I attended the Hayward Executive Airport Open House 2014! I was able to stop by and chat with members of the Bay Area Black Pilot Association, Hayward firefighter Ryan Hamre (with the green fire truck used to fight jet fuel fires), East Bay Cadets Squadron 18, the AOPA: Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, and members from the Tuskegee Airmen. Fun fact: The green firetruck fights jet fuel fires, something that I helped pass while on Hayward City Council. Hayward fire did not have a way to fight jet fuel fires before this addition.
