Last Sunday was Round 3 of the 2014 S3 parts ACU British National - TopicsExpress

Last Sunday was Round 3 of the 2014 S3 parts ACU British National Championship organised by the Hillsborough MCC at the excellent Jack Wood Trial. The event was First Class and welcomed back after the cancelled event last year because of the snow. A slight route change worked well with River Kwai being mid way through the event. In the Expert Class JST GGUK Team riders filled the podium with Dan Thorpe having a great ride to beat his Team mates Alexz Wigg in second and Michael Brown in third. We also had JST rider Sam Haslam in sixth. This was also my first event ive ridden for aloooooong time and as normal ive left it well late to get ‘bike fit’ for the SSDT. I had a shocking result and almost thought Kev had forgotten to fit my footrests at times but nevertheless I enjoyed the sunny day riding with my boys. I saw some ‘suspect’ observing which I guess is the norm nowadays with the no-stop rules. We left the paddock pretty sure that Michael had won on 5 marks with a stunning ride and when we saw that had jumped to 10 marks with an added ‘five’ on the hardest section on the Kwai I couldn’t believe it, Michael rode the section in question perfectly….but not in the aged eyes of the observer! Michael was indeed p’eed off but realizing Dan still would have still won he dealt with the shock on Monday morning as Michael does….head down and crack on. It will most definitely add fire to his belly for BTC1 this coming weekend that’s for sure! Anyway, big congrats from me for the GG 123, well done boys.. A big mention must go to one of our great Ladies team riders Katy Sunter, absolutely fantastic ride on the clubman route to finish a creditable second in front of some very good centre riders, well done Katy...! ;-) BTC1 this coming weekend so let’s keep it rolling please… Thanks to Trial Magazine – John Hulme for the pic. It was also Round 1 of the 2014 European Trials Championship, and new JSTGG Youth hotshot rider DAN PEACE WON the Youth Class on Saturday with his younger brother Jack finishing a great 8th place. On Sunday was the mens event and R+TGG rider Jack Price was 8th after a shocking lap1 score of 33 and a comeback second lap of 7! Well done to all! Youth results attached, thanks Jayne Peace On a personal note I wish the Trials world took the European Championship more serious as these lads families are spending a fortune going to these events and they are tomorrow’s stars and their achievements do not get recognized whatsoever. I STILL can not find the full results from all classes! Regards GGUK....
