Last date for TRB applications extended Chennai The Madras HC on Friday directed the Teacher Recruitment Board (TRB) to fix August 12 as last date for receiving applications for recruitment to the post of assistant professors. A counsel for petitioner mentioned before Justice D. Hariparanthaman seeking more time as TRB issued many corrigendum to the advertisement for the recruitment. TRB should issue a notification relating to extension of time, the judge said. Petitioner A. Chandrasekaran, M Phil., Ph.D working as a lecturer in Sivanthi Adithanar college, applied for the post of assistant professor in government arts college in response to an advertisement issued by TRB on May 28. Under clause, 16(1) of the notification, the teaching experience would be considered for awarding marks during the selection of the post. However, on June 19, TRB issued a corrigendum modifying clause 16(1) stating that the teaching experience while pursuing Ph.D would not be considered. The work experience after getting the required qualification would alone be considered for awarding marks, it added. Aggrieved by this, Chandrasekaran filed the writ petition. Additional government pleader P. Sanjay Gandhi submitted before the judge that TRB had issued another corrigendum on July 9 withdrawing the June 19 corrigendum.
