Last month one of the speakers at a community presentation said, I hate to say this, but theres a stigma attached to _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _. Im purposely not poisoning you because, up until that moment, I was innocent of that bias. Now I am not. And I encounter it everywhere. Although Im consternated at losing my easy non-judgment on this particular front, I can say I appreciate having my awareness raised at how easily we pass the currency of bias, stigma, prejudice and judgment around. Next time, Ill cover my ears, because I am studiously in the process of recovering my innocence. I want fresh eyes and an open mind.
