Last night, Christmas Eve, Molly and i watched Joyeux Noel. If you have not seen this movie, it is highly recommended and a reminder of the futility of war, the humanity of those who fight (on both sides), and the recklessness of the rhetoric of war promoted by our medias and governments. By the winter of 1914, 1 million were already dead. 13 million more would die before wars end. But for a brief moment in time, enemies called a truce and sat and shared their stories (and beer!). May 2015 be a better year. to read a little about the Christmas Truce see this: nytimes/2005/12/25/weekinreview/25word.ready.html?pagewanted=all, But better yet see the movie.
