Last night I chaired my first Healthy Saanich Advisory Committee (HSAC). A very thoughtful and friendly group of Saanich residents make up this committee. I really enjoyed the conversations we had. Saanichs advisory committees are there to advise council on matters regarding the municipality (saanich.ca/living/mayor/boards/index.html) I am quite pleased that at this meeting we passed a motion to Saanich Council asking them to have the Finance, Audit and Personnel investigate the feasibility of the District of Saanich becoming a Living Wage employer.
