Last night I held a marriage license in my hand and stood at the altar at a wedding rehearsal. Today I will recite vows that I wrote. Not at my own wedding...but because I have the honor of officiating someone elses. I dont pretend to understand Gods plan. I never thought Id sign a marriage license that wasnt my own. I didnt quite understand why I felt compelled to get ordained to marry people 8 months before I moved to a ranch where weddings take place. I cant fathom playing an active role in someone elses Happily Ever After when I cant seem to find my own. And after the endings of the past week, the irony of me writing the script for someone elses new beginning isnt lost on me. And yet....it is well with my soul. I am grateful for this life I lead, as bizarre and unorthodox as it might sometimes be. Perhaps when I prayed & asked God for a fairytale wedding someday, He didnt get that I wanted to be the one in the white dress ;) Or maybe He just loves me & delights in me so much...He decided to give me a lifestyle of fairytale weddings instead of just one. Im learning that I dont need to know His will. I just need to trust His heart. And I do.
