Last night I was able to participate in a great discussion during an event called The Philosophy Cafe. My good friend Sabash from India was leading the discussion and did a fantastic job. The club is comprised of University professors and philosophy enthusiasts, that get together to discuss philosophical questions. The focus of the discussion was based around the Hippocratic Oath and how strictly our world has kept to it. The word "philosophy" comes from the Ancient Greek φιλοσοφία (philosophia), which literally means "love of wisdom". It was a great event and there was a lot of great discussion. A couple of Hippocrates quotes that I enjoyed hearing mentioned: - "If you are not your own doctor, you are a fool." - "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food." - "the way to health is to have an aromatic bath and scented massage every day." -"If we could give every individual the right amount of nourishment and exercise, not too little and not too much, we would have found the safest way to health." -"Natural forces within us are the true healers of disease."
