Last night I was joined by Kevin, Zanzer and grandson, Priest, Jenny Peek, and Francisco. We watched tv on the computer and sat quietly, mostly, during the whole prosecutors message. Afterward, we said a few things to each other, and Kevin had us group hug before he went home to put kids to bed. We then who were left lit a chalice and sat for 4 and a half minutes of silence as requested by Michael Browns parents. We talked a bit and put the tv back on, muted, waiting to hear what our president would say. By this time it was pretty late so I asked Franscisco to give us a blessing on his way out, which he did. The rest of us left shortly after and since then I have just been pondering all of it. Mostly I feel sad and tired, on my way to remembering why Im grateful and dedicated to this work.
