Last night I went to a celebration for the semi retirement of my last and favorite principal, Ellen, who joined the Quincy Elementary staff in 2004 when the building first opened. She took a group of teachers taken from other buildings, most of whom were involuntarily assigned to the new school, and turned them into an inseparable team. Zeeland has some of the best teachers I have ever seen, but the staff at Quincy is exceptional. It was such fun to see everyone, especially since I had not seen any of them since walking out the door upon my own retirement a year ago. I didnt realize how much I missed them all, though not enough to go back to work!
