Last night is being labeled a resounding victory for republicans. I might disagree with that statement to a small degree. Of course theres no denying across America and especially in WV, the republicans made substantial gains. However, as optimistic as I am that good things could potentially come from this, I wont consider it a victory until I witness our new leadership actually doing what is right for the people. I am only interested in an American (and West Virginian) victory. More people being able to find jobs without having to leave their state. Lower taxes and balanced budgets. Children having what they need to get through today, but also having a bright outlook for their future. Cutting the government fat that most politicians are addicted to. Deregulating industry so businesses can thrive without big government road blocks, but doing so with a common sense approach so we ensure things are always above level. Securing our borders for our safety and security both physically and financially. These things and so many others are what the people are craving. That was proven last night. Now its time to get it done. Talk is cheap and 2 years will pass before we know it. If real progress isnt made in these areas, I will refuse to think of last night as a victory for anybody. Yes, we flipped the US senate, several Gov seats, the WV house, 4 of 5 WV congressional delegation and drew to even in the WV senate. More than flipping all that to republican, I believe now the task WE THE PEOPLE have ahead of us is flipping many of the republicans to conservative. We sent a message. Now we must make sure that message is received and acted upon. MONTANI SEMPER LIBERI SMEPER FI
