Last night, my friend Laura and I spent four hours posting 250 - TopicsExpress

Last night, my friend Laura and I spent four hours posting 250 flyers throughout Milwaukee -- targeting businesses, bars, restaurants, apartment buildings, hotels, bus stops, and anywhere humanly possible. We hit areas starting at Lyon & Van Buren, east to Prospect, south to Michigan, west to Water, and back up to Brady, and everywhere we could in between. The support of most local businesses was absolutely incredible. To the people who allowed us to post flyers in their windows, restrooms, on their front desks and even asked us to post multiple flyers -- thank you. To the strangers we ran into who asked for flyers to distribute -- thank you. To the businesses that didnt allow us to post our flyers -- I hope that you will still help us find Kelly. We are Milwaukee -- a community that has seen young people go missing. A community that will not stop searching until our friends are found. 24 hours ago, with knots in my stomach and a helpless feeling in my gut, I decided to create this page. I created it with sadness, as nobody should ever have to create a MISSING post for a friend or family member, and with hesitation, that I was stepping on the toes of other friends and Kellys family who had already started to search. I have since come to realize, with over 900 likes and 20,000 views, in a 24 hour period, that social media has become a pivotal tool for our society. That this page will reach people who may have any of the missing pieces to this heart wrenching puzzle. I have read messages that this page has been shared in Michigan, Arizona, Minnesota, and many other places so far away from Milwaukee. To those of you who have shared this information via social networking, offered to help post flyers, and spread the word as much as you can -- your help is greatly appreciated. To those of you havent yet had the privilege to meet Kelly, and are praying for her and keeping her in your thoughts -- it means the world. While I try to keep abreast of the latest news reports and details across all media outlets, the information they are providing is the only information I have. The Milwaukee Sensitive Crimes unit is working to uncover any details and help find Kelly. I have seen conflicting stories, thus do not know all the details of Kellys disappearance. What I do know, is that her disappearance is very out of character. Kelly is one of the friendliest, most caring, compassionate, and vivacious people I have ever met. I have never, ever met someone with the optimism that Kelly has. Only a few short weeks ago, Kelly posted on Facebook, Today I am thankful. For the gorgeous afternoon breeze, the sunshine that brings life, the gift of yoga and how it constantly reminds me to live in the moment and be joyful, even when its terribly difficult and for my awesome job. What are you thankful for? My response, was that I was thankful for her positivity and cheeriness. Someone with these characteristics does not go missing on their own. My gut tells me that someone knows something -- lets continue to get the word out, and hopefully find the missing links. Lets spread as much optimism and hope, for Kellys safe return, as she would for any one close to her or even a perfect stranger. I send many heartfelt thoughts and prayers to Kellys family and am confident that together, we can all raise awareness of her disappearance and get her home safely. --Caroline
