Last night our local PBS station, WNED out of Buffalo, showed the 2012 Gently Northern Soul episode of the Inspector George Gently police drama, At one point, a Frank Wilson 45 on the Soul label was shown, but it wasnt on-screen long enough for me to see if it was actually THE legendary record or a mock-up. Wilsons name was also bandied about once or twice during the episode. This can probably be considered a bit of Northern Soul wish fulfillment, because only 2 to 5 (depending on the source) copies of the record are known to exist. Wilson is better known as a songwriter and producer, responsible for many hits by the Supremes, Four Tops, and others.
