Last night reviewed a concert for NWN of Berkshire Maestros, at Douai Abbey, which used to be Berks Music school in Newbury. Much bigger now but still offering music tuition to thousands over the whole county. Some good music, well played and when we saw the clarinet choir it reminded me of daughter Juliet playing the bass clarinet way back when. Good bass clarinettist but not as good as Ju! ----one of best pieces was the hymn Nearer My God to Thee, played with conviction and conjuring up images of Kate Winslett clinging desperately to Leonardo Di Caprio as the Titanic sank slowly to the bottom of the ocean! Priceless.
