Last night started out Great, A work dinner party at Tepanyaki, - TopicsExpress

Last night started out Great, A work dinner party at Tepanyaki, followed by a stop at the downtown liquor store for a bottle of wine and then on to pick up some MCd for the kids. The liquor store was packed so I figured wed just park at mcds, get the wine then get the food. When we came back to our car, It had booted by a private company, along with 2 other cars. A note on the window demanding 75.00. I specifically avoided the parking lot next to us because it had signs stating for patrons only, I wasnt going to bow to these predatory demands and started changing my tire. Out of nowhere lurking behind the corner comes the bootee, telling me they were going to call the police if I tried to remove it, I said please do Id love to discus this with the police, The cop said he was going to remain neutral, which he was not, he was more on the their side than mine. He said he was there to make sure we didnt kill each other and it was good, because I dont know where this would have ended had they not arrived. I told the cop this is a civil matter and asked if he would arrest me If I removed the boot, he said well it is stealing, I said its not stealing if I give them the option to take it off. I decided not to handle this in any barbaric way, Paid the 75.00 and refused to sign the receipt witch had an agreement at the bottom. I believe that land owners have the right to boot if 1) The parking lot is PROPERLY marked with signage 2) The people do not plan on patronizing said business. After this event I was not going to patronize that mcds I was on fire! I went to the one down the street (lol) The One good thing that came of all this is I put up such stink that they were not able to make any more money for the remainder of the night. There were 3 cops by the time I left and Its not the end. I really hope thier accounting books are sparkling clean because they are in for the following Audits 1)IRS 2)State tax commission. 3)UDOT 4)workers compensation I am also going to do everything in my power to help create legislation making this practice Illegal. I also have some other tricks up my sleeve, but they border the line of ethics so well start with legal ethical means first! lol
