Last night there was an emergency at Hearthounds and Berts story was revealed on their timelime as it happened... Ive pasted them together so you can read them here... Hi guys, just racing into Leeds had an urgent call about a drowning Staffy in the canal in Leeds. Sadly it looks like some nasty piece of work has tried to kill this dog some kind people went into the canal and pulled her out she was sadly going to the pound, but not anymore we are on our way to collect her and bring her in with us. There are some cases in this job that no matter how skint or full we are we can not possibly turn away this is one of them. Lets hope shes not to badly injured, will keep you all posted shortly!!!! Got him, the three lovely young people who waded in after him saw him thrown from the bridge. Hes thin and friendly but stinks of the river. Eyes all blood shot from the water. Hes starving and was terrified the guys said as the water was all in his mouth. She said his face was pure fear. Taking him home now for some grub and dry off. Huge thx to Patricia, Katy and chris for getting him out and calling us xx The people who got him out saw the man in a white shirt throw him off the bridge into the river. Its a 20ft drop its amazing hes not worse hurt. He has cuts and scraps all over, tears in his ears and a huge burn on a very swollen nose. Ill take a photo later. Evil thats all I can say but hes safe now. He will stay with us for a few days before we integrate him with the pack at the stables. Were going to call him Bertie. In a few days he will be running over 30acres with the pack and chilling on the sofa in front of the heater but tonight he gets cuddles in bed with us and a serious sponge bath and wounds cleaned wormed and deflead. How anyone can do this beggars belief. Hes an old lad too has probably been very faithful to the git bag in the white shirt x Now we know why theyve tried to drown him. Hes severe cataracts - bert is almost blind xx Brought bert home and hes eaten but were racing down now to emergency vets. All his eyes have swollen up and he cant settle and is whimpering. A nice £100 just to walk thru door at this time but hes really crying and his eyes are popping out of his head and red raw. He will have had quote an impact as he fell so I cant chance it. So this is a special appeal for anyone who can donate towards the vet bill. Will see what it is and do what we can for him. PayPal hearthounds@outlook Think he has fluid on his lungs x Hi everyone, bert has been admitted to the animal hospital he is ok but the vet is worried that he may have fluid in lungs, they will keep him in a do a chest x-ray we will know more tomorrow but they will give him pain relief and keep him comfortable through the night. Thank you to all of you who are donating please keep sharing as vet bill estimated min of £300 anything up to £750 with x-rays and other treatment.
