Last night was not a good night for Bobby Broadway and his friend Susan. After working at Garbo a friend invited us for a drink at Anomino. We closed down Anomino and stayed for a private drink and left around 2:30. For some suspicious reason there were no taxis waiting on the corner of Olas Altos and Gomez like there has always been for years. So we sat down on the corner by the Coffee Cup to wait for a taxi. I motor scooter when by with two people on it. Then the motor scooter went by with one person on it. I was holding Susan’s purse over my shoulder and wrapped the strap around my hand. Someone ran by grabbed the purse and me. Then dragged me half way up the street and until the purse pulled free. He ran up the street with me running after him shouting for the Policia. Yes, I ran half way up the hill between Anomino and Michel’s as best as I could wearing my patent leather dress shoes. We were mugged. Susan lost all of her money around 300 US Dollars plus her camera and dignity. Later walking home, still no taxies, she fell in front of Playa Bonita and I couldn’t get her up so I had to get Mario the night desk man to help me get her into the condo. She sprained her knee and her dignity. She is now walking with a cane. Bobby Broadway is a Gringo El Stupido. Maybe it is time to go back to the states. Not a good night for Bobby Broadway.
