Last night we arrived in Arles, and after driving in circles trying to find our apartment (aka why did the tourist cross the Rhone?), we finally found our place. Its a charming, provincial 3-story home with a roof terrace that overlooks the Rhone. Our host kindly left us a bottle of rosé and a delicious artisanal salami. After sampling both, we went out after 10 pm and found a little square with a cluster of restaurants, all with outdoor terraces. During our meal we were serenaded by a gypsy playing Edith Piaf. We wandered around Arles and walked along the Rhone until past midnight. With lunches at 2 and dinners past 10, how will I ever adjust when I get back.
