Last night we had our annual trip to Al and Caths residence for a BBQ in the Cabin. Once again it was a brilliant night with Al and Cath providing us with more than enough lovely food, even if Al forgot to bring out all the Pork! 12 of us were in attendance to enjoy the banter sat around a hot fire in a log cabin. Good food, good beer and men being men it doesnt get much better! That is until Alan sets us up for a Table Tennis tournament. So after we were all completely stuffed out we went to Als garage and the matches begun. There were 4 who seemed to be in the running Alan, Rob, Jon G and Steve and there were even some rallys!! Alan had a close match with Rob who had to retire due to injury when Al was on match point! The final was between Alan and Steve and although Alan had a 14-9 lead at one point due to a bit of a flourish of consecutive points from Steve he found himself facing a match point. This turned out to be the best point in the evening with a rally that went well into double figures and Steve eventually coming out on top. After all this exertion it was only right to retire to the Log Cabin once again for post match drink and banter. Puddings then followed with John W making the most of the Apple tart and cream combo before finally retiring once again to the man cave. Back within the warm and slightly smokey (Guy?) confines of the Cabin a future event was discussed concerning a viewing of the Life of Brian among many other things. Big thanks have to go to Alan and Cath for putting up with us and feeding us so well, a brilliant night once again.
