Last night we were invited to an event at The Emirates Palace by Al Ghaith Oilfield Supplies & Services Co. It was amazing--I have never seen such beauty or experienced such service. You truly feel like royalty when you walk through the palace doors. They are wonderful hosts. Some of the news delivered in the U.S. is accurate but a lot is also not true. I have felt very safe here, even getting around by cab alone. There is no crime. If you hear sirens its because there was an accident of some sort. They are very peaceful. We have met people from Iraq, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, India, & Philippines just to name a few. We have met a lot of people & those are just a few of the areas we know they are from. When we tell people we are from America, they seem almost apologetic for all the negative media we have heard. They want us to know its not the whole story. Its beautiful here. I miss family & cant wait to come home but it will also be hard to leave. We are having so much fun. There is no homeless population here. Everything is very clean and well organized for such a big city along the gulf. There are bathroom attendants in almost every bathroom. I have seen maybe two bugs while here and the temp right now has been in the 80s during the day. They are hard working people that have been so hospitable and eagar to please. We have a lot more to try to see & do in the next couple days. I hope we can accomplish it.
