Last stop was in Raton, NM and I recognized it immediately from when I passed through on the train when I was 7 or 8 years old (yes I know, a long time ago). The train station is a little southwestern adobe building and across the street are little shops run by Native American Indians that we went into to buy handcrafted leather goods. Train only stopped for 5 minutes today as they are trying to make up time from earlier delays. Looking ahead to Albuquerque where a guy on the train told me you can get off and get killer cheeseburgers and fries.
