Last time I hung out with my Uncle Bob on a holiday as a family was this past Easter. I love my Uncle Bob. He is no BS and I respect his words. He says to me, You and Johnny Cash, the men in black. I had no idea what he was saying. Today, my writing partner sends me a link to this video saying, I love this song. Rock n Roll. Life is such a gift and I am so very thankful for my family, band mates, friends, and students. I get razzed about how I look sometimes but Ill tell you why it doesnt bother me with three short examples; 1) My Uncle Bob tells me I remind him of Johnny Cash 2) One of my students Fathers asks to speak with me for a few minutes as he finds it remarkable that I look the way I do and have so many young musicians who are so enthusiastic about learning to play music. You could be an elementary school teacher. I just wanted to talk with you as I find that remarkable. 3) The coffee shop I stop at every day in to a school to teach these dudes always ask about my clothes. Do you ever wear a different color? You wear black clothes every day, you order a black coffee. What color is your car? ..... I respond Black but I ...... Everyone in the coffee shop is laughing including me. I didnt plan that. I try to explain but, Hahahaha! Life has an amazing way of revealing smiles. I choose the path that I can do the most good and share the most smiles along. Thats why I have the clothes I have.
