Last week I reposted a photo from one of my favorite left-wing sites. The image was of a U.S. soldier talking to a young child in what was clearly a foreign land. The text was as if he were speaking to her and explaining that after the bombing and killing was done a puppet government would be put in place and the U.S. banks would come in, and they too, could be be free. In my ignorance it did not occur to me how offensive the image was. The depiction of an American soldier delivering this message was lost on me. I was so focused on the message that I overlooked the implication of the soldier being the spokesperson. To all and any who were offended by my posting of this image I apologize. I have never served in uniform, and would never want to disparage anyone who has. Finally, I want to extend a personal apology and thank you to my cousin Tom. I am so sorry for the offensive nature of my post and want to thank you for calling me out on it.
