Last week, Project Peanut Butter & Every Child Fed trained our hospital staffers from Somalia to make Ready to Eat Therapeutic Foods (RUTF) using locally available products to combat malnutrition! The training took place at our office in Nairobi, Kenya and was a huge success. The simple production set-up was transported back to Somalia this week. We already of jars of nutrient-rich therapeutic foods produced ready to treat malnourished children! This project is the first of its kind in Somalia- We are very proud to be pioneers in building local capacity and lessening dependency on external aid.
