Last week, after suggesting on the radio that the Edmonds Cookbook was falling out of favour because New Zealanders had moved on, cooking wise; that we were all a bit more sophisticated in the kitchen than our parents used to be - I cracked my hard boiled egg and it ran through my fingers in a gooey, sludgy mess. Proving that I couldnt boil an egg and I clearly wasnt quite as sophiticado as I thought I was! Im delighted to report that today I boiled my egg for ten minutes and it was absolutely perfect. Thank you Antony Astle for the expert egg boiling advice.
