Last week we celebrated a combined Sorry Day and NAIDOC with activities running throughout the week. At assembly the students were privileged to experience a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony performed by Professor Simon Forest, from Curtin University. Our Aboriginal students presented Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island flags to the school, we had bush tucker tasting of kangaroo, fish, damper and berries, cooked and served by local Aboriginal women and the girls participated in a dance workshop held in the library with Karla Hart, an Aboriginal dance instructor and performer.
