Last week we shared a story with you of “Alexander the Great”. Remember this little kitten that was pushed away by his mom, full of maggots and weighed just 4 ounces. Well one week later, he is doing well and up to 8.1 ounces. His foster mom says, his appetite is good, a feisty boy who is vocal and is not shy about letting her know what he wants and when he is mad. He purrs when she picks him up, has learned how to roll over on his back and plays with her fingers after he is fed. He recognizes his foster mom and topples over with excitement to be picked up. His last vet checkup went really well. Potentially, there could still be some damage that we cant see yet, his odds of becoming a normal kitty have gone up tremendously. Our veterinarian could not believe his progress. He is a little fighter with a lot of spirit. We can, now, tell for sure he is a little boy. Everything has healed up down there and he peed on his foster mom like only little boys can…LOL! It takes a special foster volunteer to show such dedication and care for this helpless kitten. But, this hard work is rewarding when we watch a precious life learn, explore and play. When “Alexander the Great” is ready for his forever home, his new family will be very lucky to have chosen him as their new family member.
