Last week when I was driving to Lane Community College to set up for our auction I was nearing the top of the rise, driving through the fog and the Chambers Brothers Time Has Come Today (long version) came on the radio. It was so evocative of so much happening then and also what is happening now (if you live long enough history repeats), I felt compelled to share it. I looked and looked for what I would consider a clean version and none were perfect (just as we search and work for a perfect world). I settled on this one because of the quality and images but was bothered by the commentary and it starting out with an advertisement. Then I thought it was just right because this bitter commentary still exists and the ad really makes it function as a commentary on commercialism. We just cannot seem to appreciate something without branding it.
