Last weekend I went to a guided meditation session at a Buddhist - TopicsExpress

Last weekend I went to a guided meditation session at a Buddhist temple to calm my mind and kill my ego. It was wonderful. It was my first time, and I was nervous, but I neednt have been. We did this Ahhh meditation cycle that reminded me of my favorite acting workshop activity that starts with everyone standing shoulder to shoulder with their eyes closed while humming and then moves into that same Ahhh situation. The thing I love about those exercises is how connected I feel to all of humanity on a cellular level. Or when someone elses Ahhh vibrates a harmony with your own. I live for that shit. (I have a fantasy where I get to do this activity with all of my favorite diva belters and have the best voices on earth vibrating through my body all at once.) The group was small--just five of us including me and my wife, and afterward everybody sat down to tea and cookies and a bit of a talk-back with the temple priest. As we were all getting to know tiny bits about each other, one of the guys in the group blurted out, Wait...were you in I, Charon? He told me about how he and his friends are constantly quoting the film to each other and how much they love it. He asked to take a photo of me to prove to his buddies that he met me. HAH! I continue to find that situation ironically hysterical. There I was, in a Buddhist temple meditating, trying to silence my ego, and instead I stumbled upon an ego amplifier in the form of one awesome fan. Havent seen it yet? You may be my biggest fan ever and you dont even know it yet. ;)
