Last weekend, former @MoultonCollege Arboriculture student Steve Gale represented the UK and Ireland on the Tree Climbing Team at the European Tree Climbing Championship finals. This was the first time Steve has competed in the Europeans and he was one of 50 tree climbers from Europe – most of whom had competed before. Nevertheless Steve did really well coming 28th out of the 50 competitors with 23rd place in the Aerial Rescue and Work Climb – the two most important events. Steve’s former teacher, Jessica Herbert who trained Steve for tree climbing competitions, is convinced that this is just the beginning and Steve will steadily move up the rankings in future years.
