Last word before I head out for the weekend. Due respect for an American service-member in distress, but the story told by the Marine being held in the Mexican jail sounds bogus. I know that San Diego/Tijuana border crossing well. It could not be better marked. It is impossible to cross into Mexico by accident. Plus, he had been across that border many times before, including once earlier that same day. What was he doing crossing into chaotic violent Mexico with his mini-arsenal? hunting? How did he get $100,000 in the bank? I want him home with his family like the rest of you, but imagine how we would treat a heavily-armed Mexican serviceman who crossed into America by accident, got locked up, tried to escape, then lied about how he got here? Hed be lucky to be in one piece. Like I said, I want him home. Then I want him questioned by U.S. authorities about what the hell hes been doing in Mexico.
