Late last night just as I was thinking I should really go to bed, I happened to see a very broad grey body with dark tail disappearing out the cat opening in the back door. Ah Ha, so now, after blaming roosters for cleaning up the dry cat food on the back verandah early in the morning I am pretty sure who the culprits are. Other activities that the cats have been blamed for includes pulling over the scrap bucket in the kitchen and breaking open a new packet of dry cat food. The visitors are obviously accepted by the cats as they were not at all fazed by the little furry creature sharing their environment. I quickly broke a piece of bread up and put some on the verandah rail. Miss Possum was very pleased to take that. Then I noticed my grey and white cat Tom walking along some board joining the old back landing to new verandah floor framework and right behind him trying to catch his tail, was a baby possum. I would think the cats and the possums (which live in the ceiling) have been having midnight feasts together for some time.......I just happened along....!!! Feast of apple slices and soft banana........midnight snacking!!!!! Very cute.....!!!!
