Late night random thought about immigration reform (1 beer - TopicsExpress

Late night random thought about immigration reform (1 beer consumed) - many U.S. industries cannot survive without illegal immigrant workers (construction & restaurants). Its fair to say they are the back bone of our economy. Similar to how slavery served as the backbone of the plantation economy pre-Civil War. And as taxpayers, its also fair to say we are subsidizing their healthcare and other social costs. So wheres the tipping point? At the end of the day, we should remind ourselves their overall contribution to the economy far outweighs their social costs. So to me, looks like a good deal. Especially when compared to some of the other government programs we have already legalized #welfare.
