Late this evening, in 1969, a massive hurricane by the name of "Camile" made landfall the gulf coast. The storm sustained winds of 190 mph with a storm surge of 24 feet. The storm changed the coast forever and killed 259 souls. The storm caused a total in $8.89 billion in damages and changed the history of the Gulf Coast.
