Lately I have seen posts for the gratitude challenge. This bothers me. The word challenge is defined as (n) call to take part in a competition or query to the truth often with demands of truth, (v) invite to engage in a contest, to dispute the truth or validity of. When I think of the word challenge, it immediately puts the word work at mind. We shouldnt have to work to find the blessings in our lives, they are abundantly placed before us each and every day. How about every day, before we get out of bed, when we retire for the night and any time in between, we give thanks and gratitude for waking up, a bed to sleep in, a family to love, food in our cupboards and the opportunity to make a difference, not only in our lives but to those we surround, perhaps even those we dont even know. I will now step down from my soapbox as I am grateful to those in my life that love me for who I am and understand where I am coming from.
