Lately Ive seen a whole lot of people that I care about hurting, stressing, and unhappy over relationships; whether romantic, friendship, or the myriad of points in between. I really hate to see that. Im probably the last person whose advice you should listen to based on my own love life track record, but as The Reverend (with a 93% wedded bliss success rate no less) I offer these words: Be honest. Trust is paramount. Deception, manipulation, and mind games kill relationships on any level faster than anything and generally get you the exact opposite of what you were trying to achieve. Enjoy people for who they are without trying to fit them into your own box (pun possibly intended). If you enjoy someones company, dont overthink it. Stop taking everything so damn seriously. Think about it; those playful moments with your special someone or someones are the most enjoyable, arent they? Dont confuse or displace your feelings about circumstances with your feelings towards people. Let go and just be in the moment when youre with the person you dig being with. While your past informs your present and there is a time and place to plan for the future, just letting yourself focus solely on those moments as they occur will always remind you of why you made a connection with that person in the first place. Those moments are what lifes all about, and we never know how many we get. And most importantly, just be good to each other. Cool it with all of the shady, petty, drama-causing crap. If someone is gonna give themselves to you, be it in part of completely, take care of it.
